I originally spoke with Winata, when I called, however, I ended up getting there a bit later than I told them and she was with someone else. A nice man named Greg came out and offered for my son and I to sit in his office so that we didnt have to stand while we waited. Long story short, Greg, ended up being the one to help us. He broke everything down for my husband and I in such a way that made sense and was practical. We ended up owing nowhere near the amount we originally thought. As we were walking out, Winata even printed out an organizer for us to know what documentation we needed to start keeping, that way we wouldnt miss out on some of the exemptions we missed this year due to not knowing to keep certain proof.
I chose WB Elite for my taxes after doing a search for CPAs in my area. There were only a few on the list that had any reviews and WB was one of them. So, after calling the few places that actually had reviews, I felt most comfortable and impressed with WB and decided to go with them! I cannot say enough about this place so I wanted to add a review so that others would decide to use them as well. I figure its the best thing I can give back to this place.

That friday, 4/14, I began looking for a CPA to help me. Every single one I called told me that I was pretty much up a creek, that they could help me eventually but would have to file for an extension because of the time crunch. This was, of course, my fault, not the other companies, they cant help that they are busy. I was more than understanding. I only bring it up because when I called WB, they offered to stay as late as I needed them to so I wouldnt have to get an extension on top of the other penalties we knew were coming. I was so shocked that they were so willing to help me.
Greg Butler has been preparing my taxes for several years. Very knowledgeable and efficient in his field with several years of experience! Highly recommend for any and all accounting/tax needs.
The point of my review is this, they went above and beyond what I would expect from a CPAs office. I do not see myself using any other company for my taxes or accounting services. I will be back for next years taxes and other accounting services we will need in the future.
Heres how my experience went, but first a little background just to help you understand how much they took off of my shoulders.
My husband has always been a W2 employee and I have always done our taxes, myself, through a popular tax website. However, after my husbands old boss began stealing between 50-60 percent of our checks for two months and then not pulling any taxes out of those checks, we left. His current job has him down as 1099 or "self employed' but we are only "self employed" for tax reasons. (Yes, I know but our focus was getting our bills paid after the chaos we had just endured.) Now, because of the previous employer not pulling our tax out like he was supposed to, I was already a bit worried with our tax situation and now I was adding a 1099 status to the whole ordeal, which made it worse. Probably not my smartest idea but I assumed that I could still do our taxes myself through the software I normally use, so I wasnt in a huge rush to get them done. I waited until 4/12 to attempt our taxes, the tax deadline was today, 4/18. (Again, yes, I know! Im sure your shaking your head and laughing by this point.) I got through everything and it all looked a whole lot better than I imagined until I entered our 1099. I just about fell off my seat at the amount we now owed the IRS and I didnt know what I was allowed to claim for exemptions and what I wasnt. It was a mess.
