Last weekend, while celebrating my father's birthday, the waiter asked if we would like a hot and a cold antipasto. We said yes. We were 4 adults. When the bill came, they had charged us $110 for THE ANTIPASTO!!!! Of course, my husband paid the bill without looking at it, which I am sure is what they are counting on. I looked at the bill on the way out and thought I must be misunderstanding what I was seeing. When I got home I called the restaurant. The manager told me that they had gotten a new computer system and it must have "glitched." Well, I guess the system glitched many times, becasue many other customers have had the exact same problem with those antipastos.
Read other reviews about how they tried to cheat on your bills, it was outrageous. Thinking about this place really scheming on food as well. Both of our main courses have shrimps in them. Instead of the whole shrimp, they chopped down into small pieces, so you could not really tell the size or freshness of the shrimp.
I have eaten at Benito's many time. The food is great. However, the management has inflated our bill not once but TWICE!!! When I read other reviews on Yelp, other customers in the EXACT same situation had their bills inflated, as well.
We left the place with disappointment. I noticed it was only less than 30% full. It is Friday night. I will never return. This business is a joke! I rather go to Oliver Garden, at least the food is fresh.
I will NEVER, EVER dine here again, and neither will my friends. Bad business to overcharge local, frequent customers.
I ordered linguini siciliano with shrimp and clam. The clam was so salty and shrimp was irreparably overcooked like rubbery. When I complained to the management, I got "this is how we always cook the seafood, to make sure it is cooked well. Otherwise people would get sick. " Really? I couldn't believe what I heard.
Both food and management were ridiculous.
We had very unpleasant experience tonight.
